“My biggest reward with creating art is standing off in the distance and secretly watching. Noticing when someone looks at it, explores it, and personally relates to it. The true gift of art is when someone connects with it and makes it their own. As an artist, I aspire to create imagery that conveys beauty intertwined with items from an earlier time. My art originates originates as a form of storytelling. I want people to connect to my art through how it makes them feel, not because I am the artist.

The Art

As a creator, Sheri’s art world revolves around words, images, texture, and found objects. She creates her art by reconditioning old things- wire, chipped paint on wood, rusty metal, string, and items with interesting shapes and angles, into unique visual art. She will often incorporate one of her photographs in the mixed media assemblage. Each piece originates from a memory or a concept that is always deeply thought out in the beginning stages but often takes on a flight of its own once put into motion. Her work is an extension of her personality, containing parts of her personal life experiences and beliefs, tied in with deeper elements of morality and ideals.

The Art Studio

Sheri’s private art studio is in her home located in Nashville, Tennessee near downtown. She enjoys her ability to work from home at any time when an idea ignites her imagination.
